It's been awhile since I've actually
updated this list and alot of changes have taken place in the interim --
therefore, I felt that this is a good time to really clean this list up and
make the appropriate notes based on all the stuff that has come out.
Note that in putting this post together,
I tried my best to pull the most accurate information possible, however with so
many reports out there (and many of them conflicting), it's hard to be 100%
accurate. I went ahead and fixed some of
the more obvious errors from my original post that I was able to identify
(i.e.: some artists who were reported as
joining CTI but actually had not...I went ahead and crossed them off the list
for now), but I might not have caught everything. Therefore, if anyone has questions regarding
the information, feel free to let me know.

Artists and Behind-the-Scenes
people who have joined CTI or are currently filming series for them:
** Note 1: I’m not 100% sure what
type of contracts each artist has signed, as many of them did not elaborate on
that in any of the news reports – therefore, I only listed the contract terms
for the ones who did mention it.
** Note 2: The below list was
compiled based on news reports, Weibo, and also the cast lists for the 6 CTI
series that have already been announced (plus the 2 that have not yet been officially announced). The artists listed may NOT
necessarily have signed with CTI, as they could be just filming series for them
free-lance.

Note 3: CTI will be holding a 20th
Anniversary Celebration Event on 9/12 and therefore released a list of the
artists who would be in attendance – the names in BOLD in that section are ones who are on this
list but were not previously announced as having joined CTI.

I didn't know Charles Ying was in the second life series are you sure? He's also in the Fantasy Love Song series. If so that makes 3 CTI series he's been in already which makes me wonder whether he signed with them. If not then they're treating him quite well. Sadly I won't be watching 2nd life because of Wilfred Lau, hate that guy right now. I'm still most looking forward to Fantasy Love Song (the idea is so original and ground breaking for an HK series) and Still Have Time To Love You just cause of Danson Tang and Charles Ying.
ReplyDeleteI liked Prudence in ATV's Anyone But Him/Anywhere but Here series. The story of the 3 main actresses was so well written. TVB's copied version in Le Femme Desperado pales so much in comparison! Hakka Women looks convincing with Prudence as one of the main leads.
@sport3888: Yes, Charles is definitely in the Second Life series (he was listed on the official press release as being part of the cast, plus I saw various Weibo posts about him being in the cast)...I actually didn't know he was in the Fantasy Love Song series though. As for whether he actually signed with CTI, I'm not sure, since I haven't heard any specifics about that up to this point.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest though, I actually think that CTI will probably treat Charles well whether he signs with them or not because so far, they've treated all of their artists well. One of the things Ricky Wong really does do well is establishing a good relationship with his staff and also making them feel respected and valued, no matter who they are....not sure if this has anything to do with his years of experience as a professional business person, but it's actually a really good strategy to take.
Another example -- just look at Benji and Lesley...they are flourishing at CTI! Not only are they getting the opportunties to fulfill their dreams (participating in series, which was something Benji never got to do despite working at TVB for 7 years), they also get to continue pursuing their music. No wonder Paul Chun said in a previous interview that he is very happy with the way Ricky Wong is taking good care of his children!
As for Prudence -- I've actually had limited exposure to her acting (I remember a few cameos and such that she did back in the 80s, but the details are very vague), so can't really comment on that piece. But based on all the critical acclaim that she had received for that movie she did (the one that earned her that Best Actress award), I would think that she has decent acting skills at least?
I actually saw the cast list for Hakka Women on Wiki, but since the series hasn't been announced yet, I didn't want to put the names that I saw because Wiki's info may not be right. I can tell you that the names of the 2 actors who were listed as the leads for the series were very surprising to me because I had no clue that they had joined CTI (both are former 80s/90s TVB siu sangs)...I'm still waiting for the info to be confirmed, so going to hold off until I know for sure...
Wow 80/90s TVB siu sangs? I hope they are people we haven't seen for a while! =D Can't wait for your confirmation I'm going to sneak a peek on wiki too. lol
DeleteYes I'm pretty sure Charles is in Fantasy Love Song although his role probably isn't as big as the others. Because I remember he was in that touching weibo post Benji posted earlier how each member contributed to his dancing in different ways.
Delete@sport3888: Here's the link to the series listing on Wiki...the Hakka Women series is the last one on the list. I've been keeping an eye out on both artists' Weibos to see if I'm able to find any clues...the series is scheduled to start filming next month (according to Ricky Wong's announcement at the 20th Anniversary party a few days ago), so we might be able to get 'confirmation' soon....

Thanks llwy12 but unfortunately they are not the one I've been waiting for:( I was very excited when you mentioned 2 siu sangs from TVB 80s/90s. Anyway I am okay with the two mentioned but not that enthusiastic. I think you know who i wanna see:)
Delete@BOGAEFAN: LOL...yea, I know...the two mentioned in Wiki aren't really 'wow' factor level (and depending on who you talk to, some might not even consider the 2 of them 'siu sang' level -- though to me, they definitely were 'siu sangs' considering they played lead roles before and were quite promoted at some point)...of course, they're not Felix Wong level (I would consider them more Frankie Lam level) but at least they're not 'green leaf' level like most of the artists CTI has recruited so far...

I'm so glad Eddie Kwan is also listed! He's been play second fiddle in TVB's drama which is very sad! He should be male lead not some supporting actor! Hakka Women seems to have the biggest cast. Is that Noel Leung I see also listed? but why is she listed so low?! =/
